Part of a small cross-discipline team involved in planning, configuring and implementing all aspects of a PC network and intranet for the County Council, from making cables to writing scripts to automate software installations. This network replaced RS232/DRS Connect communications using OSLAN with a routed TCP/IP network linking Novell, Unix and NT servers with Windows PCs and terminals and the ICL mainframe. Liaised with departmental representatives to plan implementation of new network. Implemented Windows 95 rollout and Windows to mainframe connectivity for Castle Morpeth Borough Council. Implemented ICL OfficePower system for Social Services area offices. Planned evaluation and rollout of Windows 95. Developed a new Help Desk system.
